Out of Shape

Cleaning your massive room can make you winded. I had to use my inhaler! Since we moved in almost two months ago there have been some boxes left in the room, since there is room in our big room. It doesn't help that I'm very lazy and get panic attacks whenever I see said boxes. Not today. Today I decided to tackle them a bit. Got a good amount done before I noticed I wasn't really breathing. Scary. Gasping a bit I reached for my med chest and got the inhaler. Little Totty (Vito's daughter) had been 'helping' me with the cleaning (she's 4) and seeing me use the inhaler wanted to try it. I said no. So instead I decided to try our ultra special perfume that makes you smell like cake. That did it for her and she forgot all about the inhaler.

Man, am I out of shape or what?

Good news though. Not only am I going to start school in the fall, I'm doing more for the con! That's right, I'm helping Trinket out more with the con by being "Assistant Public Relations Manager". She believes in me and I her so I know this will work out. I have Neil to be my rock, he believes in me too. I've always wanted to do more for the con (con  is short for Sakura-con) and this is a great time to spread my wings.

No crafts, well, just my barf scarf. Having fun with it. Just different patterns along the whole thing. When it's done you guys get to see it. ;)

Internet Junkyard #16

Manure:  In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported
by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large
shipments of manure were common.

It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when
wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the
process of fermentation began again, of which a by product ismethane gas.
As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and
did) happen.

Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came
below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just
what was happening.

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term
' Ship High In Transit ' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it
high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold
would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane..

Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ', (Ship High In Transit) which has come
down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.

You probably did not know the true history of this word.
Neither did I.  I had always thought it was a golf term.

Little Things

It's the little things that keep you going. Like the cute teabags in your tea-tin. Or the sweet smelling lotion you rub on your hands. Or the way most men (generally older) hold the door open for you. Little things like that. Those special touches that make life a little more enjoyable. Such as my latest craft!

As many of you know, one of my dear friends is having a baby girl! Woots! So all those cute baby socks that I made, that I didn't know the gender for (thank god it's a girl because there were some pretty feminine socks in there) but made anyways. So yeah. I finally got time, and space, to work on the box!

It started off as a box I got from a chocolate store. Round and neat. The chocolate place is awesome by the way. I know that not everyone wants their hopes up when they see a box labed that it's full of chocolates and then don't get them so...

Wrapping paper time!

Doesn't it look pretty? I had to do all those triangle cuts to make it go around since it's a circular box... make sense?

So there it is. An hour of dedicated work for the little things to make their baby gift a little special. After all, without the little things, where would we be?

Golden Wine

While life IS going forward, it feels like it's going so slow it's in pending mode. Going back to school (dealing with FAFSA), regular exercise on the wii (we got a black one!), and room enough to get started on my craft projects. But all I seem to be doing is the first two, and reading books! Oh and tea... plently of tea for me to drink.

I can't help but wonder where this all is leading to. Wonder if someone will come up to me and say "Would you like to know how it all ends?" and how would I answer? Part of me says yes, and part of me says no. The schooling, the whole moving out. Was it a good idea? Is this all leading to a good path? I have enough regrets as it is, I don't want this to be one more. It's hard to imagin that more school would be a regret, but anything is possible.

Now for something positive! Sammy's doing better. At least he looks it. The meds I think are helping with the fluid in his lungs and blood in his bladder. He has become more needy and demanding of attention. Very unlike him. It's rather nice, like last night, I was laying it bed reading when he came up and laid on the book! Well, I had to give him attention then! He was so damn cute I couldn't help it!

Dear readers, I am off to watch more Doctor Who and paint my nails Golden Wine and drink green tea. Wish you luck.
