Nature Walk

I went with my nieces on a nature walk on a local trail. It was fun. Sadly my "nice" camera is odd and only takes half the pictures. No idea why, I think I need to take it to a repair shop or something. Anyways, here are a few shots that are okay and aren't of family so they're safe to put on here. People that know me and have facebook, you can see them.

Facebook has become my main source of information, sad isn't it? It's like Twitter, my blog, a clean version of myspace, and some sort of email communication. I like twitter because people can post what they're doing and I don't feel so disconnected to them; facebook also has this option.

Marshmallow Happy

If you know me, you know that I don't really like marshmallows... well I've eaten like a dozen in the past two days! What's up with that? Anyways, I'm knitting like mad, trying to see if I can make any profit from this, but knowing my luck... I have 16 (not including the two that are gifts) and one I'm working on right now. I really hope I can make some profit from them because I like them so much and think they would be great. I would really like to sell them in one of the shops downtown, but we'll see.

I'm still looking for a job... One of my girlfriends says they're hiring like mad downtown, but the thing is I get migraines and, now, have back issues, the jobs are all basically labor jobs, which I wouldn't really have a problem with if I wasn't hurting!

So keep in touch for pictures of the mini sweaters.

tea dyed yarn

I have tea dyed yarn! Woots for me! And the girls helped with food-coloring-dying yarn... yeah yeah yeah, hard to explain, but it was fun. They had fun. Today I dyed some black yarn... with the RIT dyestuff and when it came time to get it out of the pot (because you have to bring it to a boil with wool apparently) and let it cool then rinse it out... that's where I failed. I forgot that the dye is dye and didn't use rubber gloves. My hands are dark... I should take a picture of them. Anyways, here are a few pictures of the dying process.

And time for them to dry out!

Now for my latest project! Tiny sweaters on tiny hangers! These are going to be christmas ornaments! FYI: the brown sweater in the bottom picture is the tea-dyed yarn one.

Here is a bracelet that my grandmother gave me. It's so beautiful!

S-Con Scarf

I think this next year I"ll bring at least one not-so-close-to-finished project to keep my hand busy.

The pictures is of a friend we made in info booth. He's pretty neat, I hope we get to work with him again. I finished the scarf on our first day there and gave it to him. I just needed something basic to keep my hands busy because I was piking at my fingers and doing various other things that I don't like to do and are rather annoying when I don't have something to do with my hands.

S-Con this year was pretty damn cool. I got to meet up with a lot of friends I hadn't seen in a long time and was very glad to spend some time with them. Though I do apologize if it seemed that I didn't want to spend time with you, to whom are reading this. I'm so glad to see Z, J, J, R, W, C, and everyone else I talk to online but hardly see in person.

twitter

What is "twitter" and who uses it? I'll tell you one thing, I made a profile... sad isn't it? I joined and I have no idea what twitter is.

Here is something I enjoy; it was shared with me by my good friend M. Yes, it's about cats. Click to see fully.

Finished Again

I finished the series again! Bwah-ha-ha! My mother is right, I'm just like her. She can't put a book down (especially if it's one of a series) until it's all done (and I mean ALL done). I feel so proud! I not only read seven books, but I read them TWICE! That's a grand total of 14 books! Bwah-ha-ha! They are rather nice. I like them... a lot... I don't like how it ends (again with the what happened to the other characters after the battle was done).

Isabelle has been extremely affectionate when I was reading in the big reading chair... it's *my* reading chair now since my big blue chair is downstairs and being used by my brother. I love the cream-colored chair! It's comfy! Anyways... she was really affectionate and was demanding attention while I was reading; laying across my right arm (I lean to the right in a chair), getting upset when I move my right arm to turn the page, somehow falling between the arm of the chair and my lap... still not sure how that happens since the arm chair is like a good foot wide! It's big and comfy. ^_^

Sakura-con is coming up and I can't wait! Money's going to be super tight this year, but I have faith we'll make it just as fun... not so much shopping, but still fun... I hope.

I finished my sisters red hat and then continued onto the other two hats with puffs on the top! I'll try to get pictures with the two girls wearing their matching pink hat with purple pom-pom/puff at the top and purple hat with a pink pom-pom/puff on the top. I've been knitting a red scarf while I've been propping up the books with a pillow... and with Isabelle. Now I"m back to my chair next to the cat box with no plans to read a book for a few days... need my computer/technology fix.

Harry Potter

HARRY POTTER: You heard correct: as of 3-something this morning I have finished the whole series. I cried, laughed, and enjoyed the books immensely. When will the rest of the movies come out!? I hope they do a good job. Ugh! When did I start reading them? Hopefully we'll figure out how long it took... just curious. Sometime after the first of February I think. You know, I think it could have been better to not make Harry Potter movies, but a series... that way more details could be in it. I still don't want it to end. I want her to have made a better prologue thing... not enough detail, like what happened to the other characters and explain things better... GAH!

PROJECTS!? Yes, I have been knitting! I've made two hats, working on my third soon. I'll have pictures somewhere... I hid his eyes for protection...

The second hat was started as a red Twilight scarf from Jan 5th. I'll get pictures up soon, I want to take them with my sister wearing her hat.

SAMURI! He's been very playful at night... he didn't like me staying up late last night, but he's so adorable that I just looked at him and said "You're so cuute! Yes you are, yesyouare!" in a rather annoying baby voice. I love to take baby to my fuzzy babies.

ISABELLE: She isn't doing too well. Her ashthma (however it's spelled) has been acting up again. She had to get a painful shot to open her lungs up, apparently she could have suffocated because she couldn't get air in. Generally cats with her issue have to come in every 2-3 weeks, but with her its like 4-6 weeks. The vet recommends coming in when it starts to get bad again on a regular basis. She's doing better now and is very affectionate.
