Internet Junkyard #12

After starting a new diet I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. Unfortunately, I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning anyway. As I approached, there in the window were a host of goodies. I felt this was no accident, so I prayed, "Lord, it's up to you, if you want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly in front of the bakery." Sure enough, on the eighth time around the block, there it was!

Ch-ch-ch-changes

As you can probably tell, I decided that since the season is changing that the blog needs a new look. Blogger makes it so easy, and fun, to change it that I have to do it! Orange is a fun color and isn't used much in this house (except for November when *I* decorate the house, and even then very small amounts).

Mom moved her sewing table upstairs to make it seem less like a sweat-shop and more like fun. As you can see, she has an excellent view! Good changes for mom! Since it has been moved she pretty much has not left the area... or turned off the sewing machine.

Oh! Links are updated as well! Weeded out the no good ones, the ones I didn't visit/couldn't use anymore, and added a few more links that I find myself going to.

Possessed Chair

I have concluded that my chair is possessed. I sit in it, without my legs touching anything, it will spin around, counter-clock-wise. And squeak. How do you make a plastic chair thingy stop making that noise? Maybe that's why it's possessed! It's always done this, maybe that's why Dan found it in the dumpster! I mean, who wants a haunted chair.

So while I have amazing fun (kidding) looking for a job, I also have fun (not kidding) watching my shows, most available threw the public library, while knitting. Wow. Big surprise, I like to knit and watch TV. Isn't life grand?

Missing my sister. Oh how I wish I could be closer to her. I wish I could be closer to all my family. Wish I was able to BE closer to my friends. Why is it I seem to be more and more a hermit? Noticed that of late. Now that I'm better I don't seem to be getting out at all. Screwed up a lot of friendships because of being in pain for so long. Now it's time to repair the friendships that are worth it (aka friends that didn't abandon me because of the injury, but rather let me heal while they were just out of site and still there). Suggestions? Always open for opinions!

And on to the the latest medical mystery... when will it stop!? I'm only 24 and how they think I have a stomach ulcer?! It's not positive, so there is a chance of it not being what the doc says she thinks it is. It could be the possessed chair... it's trying to tell me something but comes out as icky things. Maybe it really wants to be reupholstered (spelling?)... a new adventure!

Project #60

The funnest project yet! Leaves are so awesome!

Photobucket
Pattern that I got from Knitty.com

Now all the leafs. What is the plural for 'leaf' anyways?

There are about 100 individual leaves, and I have to say, annoying to sew together! Lisa suggested that I use fabric (like a velvet, burgundy I was hoping) on the back, it would have been better, sadly I don't have money to spend on that. Someday I'll attempt this project again and use the fabric on the back, maybe it will be more... secure... I feel like it's not strong enough, sure it will hold the way it is, but I like things to be sturdy and reinforced. Strong. Stable.

Still searching for a way to see all the current season's episodes of "Supernatural". Anyone know how I can do that? I like watching things in order, it's an OCD thing.

Pumpkin Cookies!!! Lovely no. 63

My wonderful Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies:
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup veggie oil
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp milk
1 Tbls vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Combine pumpkin, sugar, veggie oil, and the egg. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and stir in. Add flour mix to pumpkin mix and mix well. Add vanilla. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. They will puff out like cake! Feel free to add more nutmeg and cloves!

Fun Lace

Project #61 is that lace pattern that I've been messing with, the flip side is going in the opposite direction. The yarn is from the $1 Tree store and is soft. AND GREY! Just one of my favorite colors.

Wonderful fun!

Cast on 13 stitches:
Knit 1, *yo, k2tog* repeat till done.
Repeat the whole thing! It's a skinny scarf that's 85 inches long! Soft, long, skinny, and really warm.

Still working on #60

Supernatural

Ahhh! You guys all know that I get into fazes, right now it's about "Supernatural". Still into all the lovely "Criminal Minds" and "Medium" and "Grey's Anatomy" and various others as well. I love watching shows and movies while I knit. I just need to find a way to incorporate them into a form of exercise or something.

We got seasons 1-4 of "Supernatural" for less then the cost of season one! Today we got season 5 (for the price of season one sadly). So happy that we finally have it! Neil say's it's the cheapest series we own! Isn't that great?

Expect some craft to be done by the end of it. <3

Shockers

In case you readers didn't know, I am bi-polar. Big shocker, I know. So for that I apologize for the rants and moody-swingy posts.

Now on to the good stuff! Crafts. Another big shock, probably not going to make my "New Years Resolution Projects 100" deadline. I"m going to still try though, to see how far I truly can get.

Project #60

Project #60 seems to be the funnest one yet! 90 plus small individual leaves sewn together to make a scarf. I love scarfs (spelling?) so it leads to the project #61

So yah, I'll post the patterns up when I take the final pictures for those who like the patterns.

Third shock to... well... shock you with: I'm on the up-side of the bi-polar swing, the posts will be more positive! Yah!
